My Prized Possession
If one were to ask me what my most prized possession is, it would be a toss-up between my guitar and my bicycle. I derive immense pleasure from both, but in the end, I would have to give the nod to my lightweight blue titanium bicycle that I bought in 2010. There are so many memories attached to it. Cycling in the Pan Mass Challenge, traversing the state of Iowa in RAGBRI, and, of course, those morning rides with my two neighbors, Russ and Tony, which inspired my poem, Bicycles. I look forward to those morning rides, the sting of salt air on my face, sun rising over the water, and the banter that never stops. This is our 12th year riding together, a friendship that deepens each mile we ride. I don’t know how many miles I have left in me, but I plan to enjoy each and every one of them!
